Breathe – Contemporary Worship

York Circuit’s Project to Develop Contemporary Worship
Lots of churches would dearly love to be able to lead, modern, contemporary worship, but few have the musicians and gifts to do so.
Breathe – is a project in the York Circuit, aiming to pool resources, use technology and upskill on another, in an attempt to provide such worship.
Initially, we aim to do so, monthly, at a circuit level, but will rotate around three of the larger churches, which have the equipment to support it. The long term goal, is that each of those churches will have the capability to offer such worship whenever they wish to.

There are several elements to the process…
Assembling Worship Leaders
We are aiming to assemble a group of worship leaders, musicians, preachers, youth pastors and creatives monthly, to offer what we hope will be all-age, contemporary, interactive worship at a circuit level.
Between times, we will assemble musicians, in a ‘musician’s cell’ to both worship together, but also develop their worship leading gifts.
Technology
We have already invested in new licenses, for ISingWorship, and Zoom, which will enable us to meet virtually, and more importantly, offer modern music, and visuals, during the process of upskilling our musicians and worship leaders.
We have set aside a fund, which will allow us to invest in video mixers, upgraded sound systems, and simple lighting rigs, to enable each of the churches to draw on multimedia, and equipment to stream their services.
All Age
We want this to be a hospitable, all-age and interactive experience. To that end we’ve developed a skeleton for the evening (Saturdays) to include a meal when you arrive, then a time of biblical input, and then discussions, or craft or creative response. The whole thing we imagine will take two hours.
