Being Interrupted

Reimagining the Church’s Mission from the Outside, In
Al Barrett, Ruth Harley, Rachel Mann
We heartily recommend this book to those involved in mission, or considering Pioneering. It takes a refreshing approach, of both crtiquing the church’s identity and mission, from the standpoint of its two authors, and their own distinct identities. It urges us to engage with community, and see the church through the lens of its eye’s rather than falling into the trap of knowing whats best, or measuring by our own yardstick. The book looks at contemporary societal issues, and those with roots deep in history, and offers us a fresh look at some familiar scriptures, in making its arguments. Each chapter has questions that can be used to stimulate your own thoughts, or indeed to discuss in a small group.
