Nomad Discussion Group

October 10 @ 8:00 pm 9:00 pm BST

“Stumbling through the post-Christendom wilderness, looking for signs of hope.”

is how Nomad podcast describes itself. If this sounds like your kind of thing then can we encourage you to give it a listen?

Then why not join a bunch of us Nomad listeners, each month, on the second Sunday at 8-9pm, for a Zoom discussion on a specific episode each month. Its open to everyone, and none of us are experts, but we love to reflect together on what we’ve heard, and what we’ve taken from it, as well as sharing some of our own experiences.

On October 10th, we have a special guest, ‘Nick Thorley’ one of the founders of Nomad, and so instead of discussing the podcast, we’ll meet with Nick, hera his story, and his latest ventures and passions.

To give some background, you might like to listen to Nick’s own podcast from some time ago.

The Essential Blurb for Episode 182

The founding father of Nomad Podcast, Nick Thorley makes his triumphant return to the show, some 7 and a half years and 146 episodes after stepping down!

Nick’s been on quite a journey. Having recovered from addiction through the healing power of therapy and ultra marathon running, Nick reflects on the trauma of losing his sight, the changing nature of his faith, the folly of trying to compartmentalise our lives, what the church can learn from the recovery movement, and so much more. It’s a classic nomad mix of banter and deep insights.

Trigger warning: In this episode we’ll be talking openly and honestly about sex addiction, gambling, and marriage breakdown, which some people might find hard to listen to.
